The environmental crisis in Indonesia need to get the attention of Muslims. As the largest population in Indonesia and even in the world, Muslims are required to actively make a major contribution to solving the environmental crisis. Contributions can be done with the thought that comes from the Koran, hadith, and Islamic Turath. Many treasures of thought about the necessity
and the command to care for the environment can be extracted and presented with an ecological approach. Therefore, Islamic studies should be directed towards ecological perspectives. In addition, the ecological contribution can also be made through the environmental movement led by scholars, pesantren leaders, religious leaders, and Islamic community organizations. With this
kind of role, the strength of an intimate relationship between God, human beings and the natural environment can be realized and the much-term can cope with the pace of environmental crisis.This paper discusses the relationship of God, man and the environment as well as the contribution of Muslims in Indonesia for efforts to reduce the environmental crisis in the perspective of the philosophy of Islamic law.
