The present study attempts to investigate the use of English by Radio Programrnthat is used by the eleventh grade English teacher in MA Banu Hasyim to teach rnlistening skill. The research occurred with three statements of the problem that cover: rn1) how is the students’ listening mastery after using English by Radio Program in learning listening? 2) What are the responses of the students of MA Banu Hasyim toward the use of English by Radio Program inlearning istening? 3) What are the English by Radio Program?rnlistening problems faced by the students in the following This study is aimed to find out how well the students’ listening mastery after English by Radio Program. Secondly, it is aimed to understand the students’ using responses toward the use of English by Radio Program in learning listening. The last rnone, this study is also aimed to investigate the listening problems encountered by a group of eleventh year students ofMA Banu Hasyim.rnThe research design of this study is descriptive quantitative. The data of this study is gathered by means of test and questionnaire. The results of the study showed English by Radio Program in learning that the students’ listening mastery after using listening is in the advance level. They have sufficient knowledge of language structure to understand basic time-frame references. Nevertheless, their understanding is most often limited to concrete, conventional discourse. Moreover, the students’ responses toward the use of English by radio as their media in learning listening are rngood. It can be seen by the number of students, that is 59%students like to learn listeningby using English by Radio Program.The result of the third research question showed that accent, pronunciation, speed of speech, insufficient vocabulary, different accent ofspeakers, lack of concentration, anxiety, and bad quality of radio interferenceswere the majorlistening comprehension problems encountered by eleventh grade students.
