In this paper, the writter tries to outline liberal Islam which being coined by Charles Kurzman. Question arises ranged to as to what the liberal Islam is and how it develops in a new age of modernism. As we noted, liberal Islam stresses on human freedom. Liberal Islam is not contradiction in terms; it is a thriving tradition and undergoing a revival within the last generation. There are a lot of prominent Muslims who are share parallel concerns with Western liberalism: separation of church and state, democracy, the rights of women and minorities, freedom of throught, and human progress. Although the West has largely ignored the liberal tradition within Islam, many of these authors are well-known in their own countries as advocates of democracy and tolerance.ifa.
