This study aims to investigative: 1)the influince of story telling learning through audiovisual media in the from of a story VCD and that of story texts, 2)the difference in the story telling ability between the male students, and 3)the interaction between the gender and the audiovisual media in the form of a story VCD. This study was a quasi-experimental study employing the Non-equivalent pretest posttest control group design. During the experimental proses, observations were conducted on the two learning groups, namely the experimental groups, namely the experimental group receiving the treatment using story VCD media and the control group receiving conventional media in the form of story texst. The research population comprised all years V student in two classes in the MI of the mu'allimat Educational Institution of Cukir, Jombang regency.
