Integration of subjects may beeasier for a teacher in a self contained classroom than for one who teaches science as special subject. Integration of science wiyh other subjects is an opportunity and challage for you to make science more meaningful to children. Curriculum integration includes not just the interweaving of skills and processes that may be taught more effectively to one another than separately. There are three ways to integrated subjects: topic-oriented integration, concept-oriented integration, and skills-content integration. Mathematics is both the queen and the servant of the science. Mathematic is needed and used in the sciences. If mathemaics and science are to be integrated in the elementary classroom, a different approach is needed, one that teaches and uses mathematics within the context of classroom expriences in science.
