The development of information technology has given advantages to library services, including that of academic library. The advantages range from providing the services to the users in froms of OPAC, internet acces and digital collection management. Focusing on the role of IT in the academic library, the author elaborates in detail what constitues a digital library and the development of information management system. She emphaszes the important of IT, especially the internet, in providing the service to the library users that consist of students, lecturers, and researches. She affiems the ideal must-given service in higher education environment. Dopink.
