Sufism is typical legacy of Islam. But, during the time many Muslims are still shy at learning and developing it. In their minds, Sufism always looks negatively into life of the world and exclusively converses eternity. Thisascription is not fully correct, because the real Sufism is based on positive attitudes toward worldly life. Prophet Muhammad Saw is an excellent example of Sufism, a prophet who is capable to experience contemplative life, and at the same time struggles in the center of economic, political, and educational affairs. The idea of methods for spiritual attainment in Sufism varies. As a rule the firstphase consist of some elements; tawbah, zuhud, wara', tawakkal, and rida, ordinarily referred as via purgativa. The next phase is via contemplativa that is filled with concentration of mind by some wirids, and the last one via illuminativa [fana']. This article explores sufism in spanning of history, the apparition of tarekat, which have generated negative effect,......yo.
