This research attempts to uncover the thought of Ibn Miskawaih and Ibn Qayyim on character [akhlak] education, compare between them, and find its relevance to the education world today. It is intended that the result of thisresearch will give contribution to the education world and society in order to teach and educate students based on good character [akhlak al karimah]. As a library research, it uses primary data sources i.e. Ibn Miskawaih and Ibn Qayyim works, secondary data sources i.e. works on Ibn Miskawaih and Ibn Qayyim thought written by other people, and supporting data sources i.e. other works that is relevant with this research. The data will be analyzed with content analysis. This research reveals that Ibn Miskawaih and Ibn Qayyim thought on caracter education focuses on education for children though training, modeling, and the method thatpays attention to the talents, attitudes and characters of the students, and obligation and prohibition method.yo.
