Marriage and family are institutions for all people, regardless of religious affiliation or lack of one, and are necessary for the stability, morality, and health of a nation. Most of religions regard family as sanctuary or refuge, and it becomes a very significant issue. Therefore, the reformation of marriage law caused pro's and con's. There are some debatable issues among the people in Islamic Marriage Law such as : polygamy, marriage registration/legality,marriage couples' rights and obligations. Unlike Judaism, Christianity and perhaps-other religions as well, Islam deals with polygamy more clearly and provides certain legal requirements and restraints that amount to the discouragement of such a practice. The reason for not prohibiting polygamy categorically is perhapsdue to the fact that there are certain conditions which face individuals and societies in different places and at diiferent times.
